One Australian Saint
-

-
One Australian Saint that everybody here will be talking about for a long time is here.
-
Reported on the news
-
The canonisation of Mary MacKillop has been hailed as a day of rejoicing for all Australians, and a very special day for the Sisters of St Joseph.
In front of a crowd of about 50,000 Catholics from around the world, the Aussie bush girl Mary MacKillop became Saint Mary of the Cross.
Australians were estimated to make up between 6000 and 8000 of the crowd for the ceremony to canonise six saints, and they let out a huge cheer every time Mary's name was spoken.
Australian and Aboriginal flags were dotted throughout the crowd, and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart - the order St Mary co-founded - stood out in their bright blue scarves, waving yellow Mary MacKillop balloons.
They were all there to see the canonisation of One Australian Saint.
Members of the official Australian delegation - including Cardinal George Pell, Sister Maria Casey, Sister Anne Derwin, Bishop Philip Wilson, Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop and Foreign Affairs Minister Kevin Rudd - addressed the media following the canonisation ceremony in St Peter's Square.
"This is a day of rejoicing and it's a day first of all for the Josephites - we rejoice for them, we rejoice with them," Cardinal Pell said.
"But it's also significant for the rest of us, as Australians and as Catholic Australians."
The Vatican estimated 50,000 people would be present in St Peter's Square for the occasion.
Cardinal Pell had his own way of summing up the impressive crowds.
"I thought the square was probably well and truly three-quarters full," he said.
"I thought it was a very respectable turnout. I was at the grand final of the AFL and it was a much bigger crowd than that."
Postulator Sister Maria Casey, who has worked hard for years to get Mary's sainthood recognised, said it had been a very emotional day for her.
"I felt very moved when the Holy Father actually spoke the words of the canonisation and I was able to look up at Mary looking down on us and out onto the square and I thought, `Mary, we've acknowledged you at last'," Sr Casey said.
"It was a very powerful day and a wonderful culmination for the many people who have worked on this cause since 1926. It's been a long journey.
"People say would I write my book but I say it could not be published yet."
Sr Casey said she had a discussion with the Pope, who remembered his visit to Australia for World Youth Day in 2008 with great fondness.
"He remembered very fondly his visit to Australia and being at Mary MacKillop's tomb," she said.
"He said it was a great day for Australia.
"He sends his greeting to all of Australia on this very happy occasion, and to the sisters also."
Mr Rudd said he felt humbled on hearing about the lives of the saints.
"As we listened to the life of Mary MacKillop and read the lives of those others who were canonised today, it gives you a genuine sense of smallness," he said.
"That is, that these are truly great people. It is a humbling experience."

Saintly name for new school centre
Posted October 19, 2010
-
A Hunter Valley Catholic school has become one of the first to honour Saint Mary MacKillop with a trade training centre named in her honour.
Construction of the million dollar facility at St Joseph's High School, Aberdeen commenced this week after a dedication ceremony and blessing of the construction site.
The centre, majority funded by the federal government, will cater for courses in metals and engineering, construction, primary industries and information technology.
St Joseph's principal, John Tobin, says the new facility will become a hub for schools and the community.
"Its certainly going to be a building that will be open for the wider community and other schools," Mr Tobin said.
"We're hoping that with the spirit of MacKillop, rolling up one's sleeves and hard work and dedication, that the facility will enable students of the Upper Hunter and even adults to go through training that otherwise would not have occurred without the trade training centre."
Maitland-Newcastle Diocese director of schools, Ray Collins, believes Saint Mary would approve of the centre because it fits with the philosophy of the Sisters of St Joseph.
"It is to give the students of the Upper Hunter the opportunity to develop their skills, to prepare them for the types of work they might want to undertake in their future," Mr Collins said
"So in lots of ways we are continuing the role of Mary MacKillop in ensuring that our young people will make an impact in our society and make our world a better world."
The Saint Mary MacKillop trade training centre is scheduled to be ready for use early next year.

Who has met Christ?
Let me explain my position; since the beginning of recorded time, people have always believed that dreams may sometime come from our spiritual side; so, one has to accept that perhaps dreams are indeed a way of communication between the living and the dead, or if you want between the living dimension and the spiritual dimension.
Therefore, one could say that when we are sleeping, we could be in the best position to communicate with the spiritual world; I want to say this because what follows hereunder is a religious dream that I had and it seemed so real to me that I felt that I had indeed met this spiritual force.
So, I dare ask these questions to you my readers: Do you believe in dreams? Do you believe that we may indeed communicate with the spiritual world in our dreams? Has anyone else met Christ? Even if this event was only a dream, because a while ago I did answer this question myself in a discussion group and this is what I said:

(Q) Has anyone else met Christ?
-
(A) Perhaps I have met The Lord Jesus Christ in a dream? This is a special
dream that I should have written down soon after I dreamed it but I
didn’t: So now I will write only that part of the dream that seems very important
to know, just to keep the record strait and its meaning.
To make a long story short I will tell you this short part of the dream: As we all know dreams are always somehow different from normal life, sometimes we all dream
dreams that are somewhat in another dimension; this is why I believe I have met the Lord Jesus Christ in a dream.
-
So, to answer the question: Who has met Christ?
(A) I was dreaming that I was up in the sky above the sub continent of India and I was
searching for I don’t know what, there was a very large benevolent
field force near and above me, this force was filling about half the
sky of India; I felt that this heavenly force was very friendly to me
and at a certain point this force spoke to me to introduce itself in a
friendly manner saying:
Do you know who I am? (And then in answer to itself said) I AM THE
MORNING STAR.
There was no much else of importance said after that and the dream
slowly fades away.
At the time of this dream I had no idea who could be THE MORNING STAR:
But since then I have worked out that THE MORNING STAR could only be
The Lord Jesus Christ.
This dream is my close encounter with Christ the Lord.
Of course THE MORNING STAR has different meanings to different people, but for me in my dream THE MORNING STAR can only be The Lord Jesus Christ, see the last page of the Bible.

Religious dreams number 3 and 4

THIS BLOG HAS BEEN OPENED FOR ANY BELIEVER TO DISCUSS RELIGIOUS MATTERS, SO IT IS OPEN FOR ANYBODY TO BROWSE AND TAKE PART.

If you believe in God
You must pray God
Religious dreams number 3 and 4

YOU ARE INVITED:
You are invited to browse and take part in the discussions that follow.
Let me pray God to help me
My Lord God, master of the universe and life-give to every living thing, I am praying thee to guide me to write these religious writings.

Dreams number 3 and 4.
-
Dream number 3: In this dream, I seem to go around in many unknown places, some are good and some are not so good. At one stage of my dream I seem to be in danger, because some evil force or people are after me. So, while I run away from this danger, I try to find some safety by knocking at a door, the door opens and an old Lady let’s me in, I felt safe in there, because there were some wise mature people inside, I wanted to thank the Lady for letting me in: But they all seem to smile back at me, as if I knew only half what was going on. So I started looking around to find the reason, and there I see my own mother beside me in company with the old Lady: So I could not help it; (as I was aware in the dream that my mother had passed away a few months before) So I asked my mother: (in my own native language, which translated in English is) Who sends you here to help me? Is it Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary?
This dream ends here and I seem to wake up.
-
Dream number 4: I had one more dream soon after this dream that I have written above, that is after a couple of nights or there about: and here again it seems that the evil force or evil people are after me, it is because they think that I have in my possession something that’s very important to them, I don’t know what this something is, but they are all after me anyhow. They seem to catch up with me, and I feel that I could not escape from them anymore, so I knew that I was in grave danger because they were the evil ones. So in my despair I turned to heaven and prayed God to help me. There was not a cloud in the sky when I started to pray, but soon two large eyes formed in the sky and they were looking down upon me, and winged at me benevolently, a large and well defined head formed in the sky like a portrait, and this head seemed to fill up most of the sky. At the sight of this God send head figure the evil ones were frozen with fear, and did not move a single step to grab me. So they all stopped in a corner frightened.
At the same time I became aware that, what the evil ones wanted from me did not belong to them or to me, but was something that had to be divided into three parts, and one part of this belonged to mother: The dream did not explain who the mother was, and since it is very unlikely that it would be my mother; then the mother very likely would be mother nature.
After that, when I woke up in the morning, this dream became very important to me, because in the morning I found a red spot on my forehead between my eyes, it was small but it was just like one of those religious people from India make on themselves.
So my question is now: Did I in my dream really call on this heavenly force? And the heavenly force came to help me, and then left a sign on my forehead to let me know who that heavenly force was, and that I should remember the meaning of this dream that I dreamed.

Good-day to everybody!
This is Manfraco Laws writing this post,

As you have seen, some of us dream dreams that lead us to believe in God and religious things:
But believing in God is not enough; therefore, we have to pray God also, and hereunder is one of our prayers of reconciliation with God, written in common with my friends:

Michelangelo face of God

PRAYER OF RECONCILIATION TO GOD

Almighty and merciful Father, I come to you praying with all my heart, my soul and my mind earnestly; God-Most-High master and eternal life giver of the universe, I am praying thee for forgiveness of my sins, reconciliation, cleansing, guidance and blessing.
Father, I am praying and hoping that in your mercy you would forgive me all my life sins, and that you would make me spiritually clean of any impurities that may affect my soul; and thus, I would become worthy to pray to you and be your humble servant, and also my prayers would be heard and accepted.
I am praying in the hope that I would receive your forgiveness, reconciliation cleansing, guidance and blessing, and after receiving them, let me be your humble servant.
Father, hear my prayer forgive me my sins and bless me; so that I can live in harmony with thy eternal life-force and serve you; Amen.

Religious Dreams, dream two

THIS BLOG HAS BEEN OPENED FOR ANY BELIEVER TO DISCUSS RELIGIOUS MATTERS, SO IT IS OPEN FOR ANYBODY TO BROWSE AND TAKE PART.

If you believe in God
Religious Dreams, dream two

YOU ARE INVITED!
You are invited to browse and take part in the discussions that follow.

Religious dream No: 2

During my life I have had lots of dreams of all shapes and forms, so, just for my own personal record I have written some of them down, so that I would be able to see if these dreams meant something to me and would be useful to remember; within these dreams there are some very special religious dreams, and I believe that this dream written hereunder is a very special religious dream for me.
So, I would like to tell you my dreams, not only because I believe that all our dreams help our mind to restore its balance, and these are those dreams that covers just about every need that people need in a dream, in order to adjust all one’s own needs of the body, mind and soul. And it is perhaps for this reason that I put so much importance in these dreams. And there is also another reason why this dreams seem very important to me, it is because they have somehow changed my way of thinking, and perhaps my way of living.
Because in these dreams I seem to have been mentally in touch with the cosmos, whether I have really been in touch with the cosmos or not it is not possible to prove, and it could turn out to be only all my mind work. But I like very much to believe that in my dreams I got really in touch with the cosmos, and really I did reach the highest active life-force of the universe.
Now, since I have already talked about the most important dream of my life, I am going to tell you, Dream number 2, I will try to tell it to you just the same way as I wrote it the first time, together with the feelings that I had when I wrote it.

Dream number 2.

This is a special short dream, at the end of a long and strange dream, where I was struggling with the adversity of life; it is written here in order to record my religious dreams, it occurred about seven years after my first religious dream. ( The most important dream of my life) It is a special dream because; when I woke up I felt that I had dreamed a very deep dream, and that I had reached very close to God life-force.
This dream seems to be connected to the first dream because, during my dream I felt that somehow I was invoking God to give me some strength or power, so that I would be able to overcome the situation that I was in, and in doing so, at the end of the dream I seem to have received the extra power.
In this dream, I seem to be standing with people that I know in real life, and somehow I was poorly dressed, so poorly dressed that my clothes were worn out rags, that I was feeling ashamed of myself. Therefore I was praying God to help me, and although my prayer was a very strange prayer, I was praying to God Almighty with great faith, since faith was-and-is the only way possible to reach out to God. And these are the phrases that I was praying God with, as they were stuck in my mind when I woke up:

Dress me as you like!…….

Tell me what to do!.......

And I shall obey and do it!

And after praying thus, I seemed to have received some super powers, even my clothes grew up from within themselves, and I became able to float through the air standing up, and while I was floating thus, here and there I would stop to talk and council some people, and they would listen to me and accept my advice happily.

The origins of religion

If you believe in God
The origins of religion

Let me have my personal say about the origins of religion.
We believe in God because we need to believe for our own peace of mind.
I believe that it all started out from our inner fear of the unknown.
Now, what I have just said may indeed hurt some people feelings, but we are a
fearful lot. We are looking for security all the time, so we live in
communities to feel safe; oc course it is human nature to feel this fear of the
unknown and it is good because in the long run it helps us survive.
The origin of religion therefore is an extended reaction to our inner
fear, which we try to control by simple reasoning of our mental
capacity. So when we were facing unexplainable things, we found a way
out in religion, which is good at explaining the unexplainable and at the same time it gave us some security.
I do not know voice this for the rest of the community; but this is what I personally believe.

What do you believe I would like to know?
Do you think I may be right about my beliefs?
If not why is it so?

Mankind needs religion

Since the beginning of recorded time, mankind has had the need to believe in something that somehow would be able to help them when help was needed most.
These needs of mankind to believe in a superpower that could help them when they needed help has slowly modified and has become religious beliefs; and so, God and religion was born out of this fear of the unkown, and religions have been like that since the beginning of recorded times.
Of course nowadays people usually feel safe in the communities that they have created for themselves, therefore, now there are some people that say that God and religions do not exist, but luckly they are still a minority.
Now, the proof of the existence of God or the non existence of God is very hard to prove whichever way you look at it; but the need of religion and beliefs of a superpower like God is still there, because mankind needs it; because, religion and believing in God could be said that it is strength for the weak and hope for those who need hope most, this is the reason why; Mankind needs religion.
To prove my point I would like to see one of those unbelievers in a dangerous situation which they could have no control whatsoever; and this situation would be so grave that it might cost them their lives: then, would they still think that there is no God, or would they wish there was a god to help them?
I am sure that they would wish that there was a god to help them, wouldn't they?

If you Believe in God
If you believe in God, what is your god like?

In my opening post I have already described what my god would be like, but I would like to say more, So, I would like to describe briefly my idealistic God, which may be a bit different from the Old Testament God in the Bible.
I believe that if there is a God that has created everything, then, this God does not need to be mean to his own creation; this is one of the reasons why I believe that god could be different from the God described in the Bible. The God in the Old Testament is too violent for me to be my idealistic God, and my views are that in those times and those times only, God had to show the people of those days what they needed to do, so, in a way God was forced to act violent, because people were violent and did not understand anything else but violence.

Now, my idealistic god is like this: God is the life force of the whole universe and god is in everyone of us, so, God is you and me and everybody else put together, therefore, one could say that god is life and life is god itself and one could not exist without the other. You see, we all love ourselves, so God is love; We all like to live, so god is life; We all would like to be perfect, so God is perfection itself; and many other attributes we can add for God.

Now this post is not about my God: But it is called what is your god like?
Do you believe in a single god?
Do you believe that there are many gods?
What sorts of gods are they, are they loving gods or tough gods?
If you believe in any god, write a comment on this post if you could spare the time, it will be appreciated.

YOU ARE INVITED!
You are invited to take part in the conversations that follow.

Let me describe to you briefly what is my God like.

For me God is the unseen life force that in a way created all existing life in the universe.
So, if you are talking about God, you would be talking about--a source of consciousness that transcends human understanding.
If you are talking about this infinite force, which through whatever the world was then has been able to create it the way it is today, then you believe in God.
If you are talking about a God, who is love, joy and beauty manifesting itself in what we call the physical world, then you believe in God.

Is your God like that, or what sort of God do you believe in?
